Welcome to Joyful Spaces
Creating Calm and Functional Spaces for Joyful Homes, Home Schools & Early Childcare Centers.
If your home or classroom feels heavy, cluttered, or overwhelming — you are not alone.
Joyful Spaces is a professional organising business who helps families, directors and educators design calm, functional, emotionally healthy spaces so everyday routines can feel lighter, calmer, more organised, intentional — and genuinely joyful.
Through Montessori-inspired consulting, decluttering, organising, developing capable systems, and independence coaching, we guide you towards a more peaceful way of living and learning harmoniously.
We combine principles from early childhood education with practical, real-life application.
That means creating environments where children can:
-
access what they need
-
understand what’s expected
-
and succeed independently, without constant prompting
Because, when a child can see, reach, and understand their environment, they’re far more likely to engage with it.
And when they’re given the tools and support to do things for themselves, they begin to see themselves as capable.
Why Joyful Spaces?
With a background in Early Years Education and child development and a deep understanding of how environment shapes behaviour, emotions, and wellbeing, Joyful Spaces offers more than organisation — we offer transformation.
Our aim is to support busy families through change and life transitions, helping them create homes that truly support their wellbeing. By transforming the way families relate to their space, time, and belongings, we help cultivate lives that feel more peaceful, connected, and joyful.
We currently physically serve the Greater Brisbane area.

Meet the Founder
Ashley Joy
I began my teaching career in London, working at a school dedicated to supporting the unique needs of children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, aged 2–18 years. Since then, I’ve had incredible opportunities to establish preschools across the globe for neurodivergent, Montessori, and traditional mainstream settings. Each classroom / space needing distinctive qualities, layouts and materials to suit that particular child.
With years of experience designing classrooms and implementing capable systems, a Master’s degree in Education, Association Montessori Internationale trained, experience with children diagnosed with cognitive and developmental disorders and —most importantly—the hands-on knowledge gained as a mother of two tiny humans;
I founded Joyful Spaces as the culmination of everything I’ve learned.
My passion is calm homes. My expertise is creating functional spaces. My approach is practical. My attitude is joyful.
Whether you're a new mum, a time poor parent, an overwhelmed preschool director, a homeschooling parent, a generous grandparent, or a caregiver to a neurodivergent child, I’m here to help! My joy is transforming spaces from chaos to calm—creating organised, sustainable environments where both children and adults can learn and thrive.
After working with Joyful Spaces;
You’ll feel lighter.
That constant background stress will quieten down. Your home won’t feel like it’s working against you anymore.
You’ll feel calmer and more in control.
Mornings flow more smoothly. You know where things live. Routines make sense — and they actually work for your family.
You’ll feel supported, not judged.
Seen, understood, and reassured that you’re not failing — you were just overwhelmed.
Your children will feel more settled.
Less overstimulation. More predictability. Spaces that invite calm, focus, and independence.
You’ll feel proud of your home again.
Not perfect — but functional, nurturing, and aligned with the life you’re actually living.
You’ll feel like you can breathe.
Because your home finally feels like a place that holds you, rather than drains you.

We had an excellent experience working with Ashley, who transformed several cluttered and uninspiring areas of our home into calmer more thoughtful spaces for our kids. She took the time to ensure toys and activities were age-appropriate, purposeful, and genuinely engaging. Everything now has a clear place, is easy for the kids to access and pack away independently, and feels far more inviting. The result is a more functional home that truly works for our family. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Ashley to anyone looking to bring order, purpose, and joy back into their living spaces.

Ash was absolutely wonderful to work with. She helped transform my son’s room into a far more user-friendly space, thoughtfully setting it up to support his independence so he can easily find what he needs and keep it tidy. She then worked her magic in my walk-in pantry, clearing it out and introducing smart storage solutions that made the space more functional and genuinely enjoyable to use, especially on busy nights cooking dinner after sport trainings. Her practical approach and attention to how we actually live day to day made a huge difference.

I'm a Mum of 4 kids under the age of 9, both my husband and I work 5 days a week. I honestly didn’t realise how much our home was affecting our family until we worked with Ashley. Before she came, I felt constantly overwhelmed. The mess felt endless, mornings were chaotic, and I carried this quiet guilt that I just couldn’t seem to get on top of it all.
The biggest change wasn’t just the organisation and declutter (which was great) — it was how we felt after. Tension lifted. The kids are more settled. Our routines flowed easier. I feel more confident and capable as a parent.
Joyful Spaces didn’t just reset our home — it reset our family life. I would recommend Ashley to any parent who feels overwhelmed and doesn’t know where to start.
